Fleet Visioning Project: Time to fill out a survey
Phase I of the Fleet Visioning Project officially got underway in early March. Project administrators are asking everyone who feels they have a stake in the groundfish fishery to fill out a survey explaining their role in the groundfishing community and their vision for the future.
The surveys will serve as “building blocks” for creating regional visions, which will be developed through 12 different workshops from Maine to North Carolina beginning in June.
Once the 12 regional visions are defined, representatives from each workshop will meet in October to develop a common fleet-wide vision, which will be handed over to fishery managers.
Surveys can be completed online at <www.fleetvision.org>. To obtain a hard copy, call the fleet visioning office at (207) 284-1905. /cfn/
